197 days, around 11 hours and....(ill let u figure out how many minutes). This is my count down to thee most incredible trip to the Philippines! I know it may sound crazy, when we're all probably sill counting the days left until Christmas...but for me, the time for this trip couldn't come faster!
Just to fill you all in, this will be my second missions trip that I've ever been on and I can honestly say from experience, it becomes addicting. Starting with a two week trip to Trinidad and Tobago last summer, and now I plan to go to the Philippines this coming summer for a entire month! Probably one of the most terrifying and insanely exciting things I've ever done or thought of doing! The entire trip will be a little over $4,000. (If you need to stop reading for a second to catch your breath after that....i understand... i did the same haha) But really when i look at all the effort, money,and time this trip is going to take...it surprisingly doesn't faze me at all. It may sound typical, but during my fundraising last year, I had to learn for the first time what it meant to COMPLETELY give it to God! not just give him my heart and ask him to make it "ready" but even the money! The result was greater than i could ever hope for, and me? I was once again shown that NOTHING is ever to great for God, which is the mindset I plan to have for the Philippines.
Probably tired of my rambling.....so ill just give you a current update. I've been so blessed to have already met a few of the people i'll be going with this summer along with learning about the need for this country. My heart Goes out to the children, who will be our main form of ministry, as we show the the Love of Jesus through bible study, songs, and helping them with their daily needs to survive. And I can not wait to begin my fundraising in January.
For now, It would mean the World to me to be kept in your prayers and thoughts, and i plan to use this blog to keep you updated! Along with the occasional Filipino language lesson as I "attempt" to lean Tagalog from my friend. As for now.... Paalam!! (goodbye) <3
